# After I install Mac Popups, the Popup application keeps prompting me for server information.

After installing the Mac Popups, the application continually asks for Popup Server information or states that the Popup Server information is not stored correctly.

If you manually edited the Popup configuration file using an advanced editor such as textpad, this may place special characters into the file, making the file invalid.

If you need to manually change or update the settings, use an editor such as Vi that will not insert special characters.
