Blueprint Enterprise - I can't open the Blueprint Server Configuration Tool after changing the password for the SQL User that Blueprint uses

Problem:

I have changed the password for the SQL User that Blueprint uses to connect to the SQL Server. When I open the Blueprint Server Configuration Tool I get the below error and Microsoft .NET Framework exception.



When I click the continue button the settings are missing like below.


Answer:

Please follow the steps below to continue to change the SQL Users password in the Blueprint Server configuration Tool.

1. Open the Blueprint Server Configuration Tool.
2. When the exception dialog appears click the Continue button.
3. The settings will be blank.
4. Click on the database TAB.
5. Click the Cancel button at the bottom, the database settings now appear.
6. Enter your new password to use for the Operational database, then click Test Connection button.
7. Change the drop-down to Reporting database at the top, enter your new password to use for the to Reporting database, then click Test Connection button.
8. Now click the Apply button at the bottom.
9. Lastly, close then re-open the Blueprint Server Configuration Tool and all of the settings should now be displayed.
