Charge for scanning does not charge or record a transaction

Configured charge for scanning at the MFP device and in Pharos Administrator under Release Stations. The user account balance is not debited. Scan transactions are not recorded, and there are no alerts or error messages. However, the scan job completed successfully via the MFP device.

Overview

In Pharos Administrator, a scan-capable MFP device must have its Device Functions set to "Copy" and "Print".  Also, its associated release station must have its Station Functions set to "Copy Station" and "Print Station".

Resolution

1. Login to Pharos Administrator

2. Go to Output Management > Devices

3. Locate the scan-capable device

4. Set its "Device Functions" (under the General section) to include "Copy" and "Print"

5. Go to Release Stations

6. Locate the scan-capable release station

7. Set its "Station Functions" (under the General section) to include "Copy Station" and "Print Station"

8. Set its "Related Copier" (under the Copier section) to match the device in step 3 above

9. Set its MFD options to match the following:    

   - Allow Scan Application: Yes 

   - Charge Scan Application: Yes

   - Charge Scans By: (Choose an option: Page, Job, or Session)

   - Scan Cost: (Choose a cost between 0 and 999.9)

10. Click "Change Control"
