Question:

How do I update the License Key for the Pharos Site Monitor application?

Answer:

There are two "levels" of Site Monitor.

  • Site Monitor Lite is included with all Blueprint installations.  It does not require a special license.

  • Site Monitor Full version.  This is a more feature rich version and does require a special license.

If you are using Site Monitor Lite version, you do not need a new license. To correct the problem, please do the following:

  1. Open the C:\Program Files (x86)\PharosSystems\SiteMonitor\Service folder.

  2. Look for the existence of two files : "license.xml" and "secondarylicense.xml"

  3. If the "license.xml" file exists, rename the file to "license.old".  If the file does not exist, that is OK.

  4. Open the "secondarylicense.xml" file with Notepad.  Look for the <ExpiryDate>.  Edit this date to be the same as the expiry date of the Blueprint license.  Save the file.

  5. Stop and then restart the Pharos Systems Site Monitor service.

  6. Open the Site Monitor Administrator.
