Article summary

The Blueprint Enterprise Server Configuration Tool has two command line options that can be used to update Blueprint when a Collector server is renamed, or when a Collector is "cloned" from a base image.

The Server Configuration Tool (PharosSystems.Core.ServerConfiguration.exe) can be run from the command line with the following options specified:

/serverrenamed

If a server is renamed, the rest of the Blueprint system must be notified. Specifying this option updates the Blueprint Analyst with the Collector's new name.

/servercloned

Where a large number of Collector servers need to be installed, it is usually easiest to install one server, then create an image of it, and install all subsequent Collectors from this image. In these cases, the servers "cloned" from the image will need to have their host names changed as well as the unique machine identifier assigned to them by Blueprint. Specifying this option updates the server's name with the rest of the Blueprint system, and generates a new machine identifier for the cloned server.

See the Blueprint Installation and Deployment manual for best practices when cloning servers.
