Environment:
Uniprint 8.3 and greater PC Station.
Question:
How can I have a PC Station release print jobs to two different devices, a Color device and a Mono devicewhile having only Color jobs go to the Color device and Mono jobs go to the Mono device without load balancing the jobs between the two devices?
Answer:
Create a Color Queue and a Mono Queue in Uniprint.
Create a Color Print Group and a Mono Print Group for each Queue above in step 1.
Assign the Color Device to the Color Print Group and the Mono Device to the Mono Print Group.
Configure the PC Station setting "Related Printers" to be both the Color and Mono devices.
What happens is that the PC Station can release jobs to each of the two devices but because the job that comes into the Color Queue is part of a Print Group (the Color Print Group) that only has one device (Color Device) it can only be released to that device, same goes for the Mono print job.
Note: This solution is for print jobs NOT submitted via Print Center nor emailed into the system via Mobile Print.
