Activating Logging For MobilePrint 1.2

Pharos MobilePrint allows log files to be captured to help administrators when troubleshooting with MobilePrint.To activate logging:

  1. Click the Show advanced options on the top right corner of the Pharos MobilePrint Web Administrator. 

  2. Select Logging from the menu.

  3. Check the Enable box and configure the following settings.

    1. Select the Log Detail

    2. Select the Log to File

    3. Enter the Log folder path.

  4. Once all the settings are configured, click Save Changes.

  5. Restart the MobilePrint Workflow Service for logging settings to take effect.

  6. The log file MobilePrint.Service.Workflow, Version=1.2.0.log is automatically created.

Activating Logging For MobilePrint 1.3, 2.0 and 2.1

To capture log files, you can choose from these two options: logging to file or logging via DebugView.

Logging to File

Capturing logging information to a file requires modification of the <LogConfiguration></LogConfiguration> element of the LocalServerConfig.xml.

To capture logging information a file:

  1. On your MobilePrint Server, create a directory to store the log file. Record the full path of this directory.

  2. Open the LocalServerConfig.xml file (typically located in C:\Program Files\PharosSystems\MobilePrint on Windows Server 2003).

  3. Modify the following XML elements using a text editor:

    - LogPersistence - Change the value from "None" to "All".

    - LogFolderPath - Enter the full directory path in which the log file will be stored. No log files are captured until you specify a log folder path.

  4. Save the file.

  5. Restart all MobilePrint Services for the logging settings to take effect.

Logging to DebugView

As well as being written to a file, log files can also be viewed and captured from DebugView. DebugView is an external application that collects log information from your computer. To use this option, you must install DebugView on the same machine where your MobilePrint Servers are installed.

Activating Logging For MobilePrint 2.2

The new MobilePrint configurator tool in MobilePrint 2.2 allows you to configure logging for the MobilePrint Worker Service and Workflow Service. By default MobilePrint is configured to always log to file. the log files are stored by default in C:\ProgramData\PharosSystems\MobilePrint\Logs.
