When configuring a PC Station to work with an ITC 1500 Card Reader, there may be issues with communication and connection. To resolve this, certain configurations need to be made on the card reader device. The "Term ID" setting should be set to 1 on the ITC 1500 Device. Depending on the configuration of the communication ports, either COM1 or USB, the transaction port should be set accordingly in the application setup. It is important to note that the communications port and transaction port cannot be set to the same value. After making these configurations, power cycle the card reader and restart the Pharos Station software on the PC.
When configuring a PC Station to work with an ITC 1500 Card Reader, the PC is not able to communicate/connect to the Card Reader. How can I resolve this?
Several things need to be configured on the card Reader device in order to communicate to the PC running the Pharos Station software.
The "Term ID" setting needs to be set to 1 on the ITC 1500 Device.
Using the key pad attached to the unit there should be one of the 2 cases below which would apply.
Example #1:
If under
Command Mode > Communications Ports Setup, COM1 is configured
Then under
Command Mode > Application Setup > {change} Set Transaction Port to USB
Example #2:
If under
Command Mode > Communications Ports Setup, USB is configured
Then under
Command Mode > Application Setup > {change} Set Transaction Port to COM1
Power cycle the card Reader and restart the Pharos Station software on the PC.
Note: The communications port cannot be set the same as the transaction port.
