# Omega Terminal: Displays the error "Error verifying peer certificate: the certificate has expired"

### **Product:**

Omega PS150/PS200/PS200ET Network Terminal devices

### **Problem:**

When trying to use the Omega Terminal device it displays the error "Error verifying peer certificate: the certificate has expired" like below. We have verified that the servers SSL Certificate is in fact not expired and still valid.

### **Answer:**

The Omega Terminal device gets the Date/Time from that it uses in the SSL Certificate validation process from the server once it successfully connects after it is restarted. If it can't it uses a time like 1/1/1900 until it gets the real time from the Pharos EDI.This inability to get the time will cause any SSL Certificate Date/Time validation to fail.

You can login to Omega Terminal devices web page, disable SSL and have it connect over TCP Port 80 first. Then try the SSL connection again.
