# Our HP devices display a USB Error on panel when swiping a card from a sleep state.

### **Symptom:**

Our HP LaserJet Enterprise and/or HP PageWide Enterprise devices display a USB badge reader not working error message.

[https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c05876768](https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c05876768) *Our HP iMFP application has no impact on how the print device itself enumerates the USB bus on the PCB inside the device. We ask the device to tell us what it found and it either returns a value or does not.
