Article summary

Problem

You're facing an issue where the Pharos Database Service is not starting after you have performed a database migration.

Solution

After migrating a Uniprint Database, if you run into issues (Pharos Database service not starting) you can check the Database service logs at the path specified in your Pharos Log Setter Application at the main Uniprint server:

If you find an error "user 'pharos' could not be log in" or similar, the current Encrypted Password on the Uniprint server does not match the password at the new SQL database for the user 'pharos', if this happens you can use these steps to troubleshoot this issue:

  • On the main Uniprint server delete "Encrypted password" string key from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Pharos\Database Server\Database
  • Create a new string input called "Password" with the current password on the new DB as the value for that entry.
  • Re-start Pharos Database service.
