# Pharos iMFP for HP Version 2.x Cost Center Limitations

### **Overview**

This article describes the limitations surrounding cost center selection for the Pharos Third Party Charging option. The Pharos iMFP for HP version 2.x supports the “M” series of HP iMFP including the M4345, M4730, M5035 and M3035. These devices use the HP Easy Select user interface.

### **Cost Center Limitations**

Unlike other Pharos products the iMFP for HP version 2.x does not automatically prompt for cost center selection when a user logs on to the terminal. This is due to the authentication method used on the HP engine. With cost centers enabled the user will be set to “charge to personal account” by default after login. Once they are logged in the user may press the billing button at which point they will be presented with a list of cost centers. Once a cost center is selected from the billing button it will be used throughout the session.

In version 2.1.4 the billing button is no longer hidden when a user is not logged on. This allows the billing button to be selected and start the login process. In this case the cost center selection would function as in other Pharos implementations. Once the login was successful the user would be placed in the billing application which would allow them to select their cost center. Once this was completed the user would be logged in and placed on the HP “Home” screen where they would select their desired function (print release or copy).
