# Pharos iMFP installation fails on HP Futuresmart MFP

When attempting to install the Pharos iMFP onto an HP Futuresmart printer, an error message appears stating "Unable to install the Pharos Authentication service on device with IP....".

Verify the version of Pharos iMFP that is being installed as well as the version of firmware loaded on the HP Futuresmart printer.

HP has made a change in their most recent firmware bundle for Futuresmart that has necessitated the need for Pharos to change the way in which the iMFP software is delivered to the printer. Starting with HP Futuresmart firmware version 3.2.7, the Pharos iMFP for Futuresmart version 4.2.6 will be required for proper installation.
