# Pharos Product Notice - Pharos iMFP for HP v1

Effective May 1st 2008, Pharos Systems will stop order taking on the iMFP for HP version 1.x software. This coincides with the announcement by HP of the M9050mfp and CM6040mfp. These two new devices replace the older LJ 9040/9050 and CLJ 9500 in the HP product portfolio. This completes HP’s migration of its product line to their Easy Select UI with all devices being supported by the Pharos iMFP for HP version 2.x (and 3.x for the CM8060/8050). All orders for Pharos iMFP for HP solutions will be filled with version 2.x or 3.x software from this point forward.

Existing installations of the Pharos iMFP for HP version 1.x will continue in current support mode. Defects will be addressed and fixed. No new enhancements will be made.

The principal factor in this stop order taking notice is that the older HP devices are not optimized for solutions deployment. The Pharos document “Pharos iMFP for HP v1.x Limitations” details the limitations imposed by these older devices. The enhanced solutions performance of the newer HP devices makes them the appropriate selection for customer deployment.

In addition to the Pharos version 1.x software the Pharos Card Connector and Serial Swipe Reader are also affected by this notice. These hardware components are specific to the older HP devices without USB support.
