# Pharos Station screen saver won't display

Why does the Pharos Station's screen saver never appear?

This usually indicates that the account that the Pharos Station is running under doesn't have permission to start the screen saver.

If your site isn't using domain group policies, this can be fixed as follows:

1. Start the Group Policy editor (Start menu > Run > enter "gpedit.msc").
2. Go to User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Control Panel > Display.
3. Enable "Active screen saver".

If your site is using domain group policies, then the setting will need to be updated there, because the domain policy will override the local policy.
