# This USB device is not supported" shows on the display of the HP FutureSmart iMFP

### Problem:

I am seeing the message "This USB device is not supported" on the touch screen of the HP FutureSmart iMFP.

---

### Resolution:

In this case, the error was caused by the USB Reader being configured for "HID Mode" instead of "Keyboard Emulation Mode". Once we reprogrammed the reader was for "Keyboard Emulation Mode" the error on the screen of the HP FutureSmart iMFP device went away and resolved the error.

This may not be the case for all devices as the HP FS iMFP software will work generally with USB Devices in either mode. Please Note: When using the Pharos HP iMFP solution the only supported USB devices are those from RFIDeas at this time.
