NEW FEATURES AND IMPROVEMENTS
Multi-language support for Secure Release
The Pharos Sentry Print Site Service has been updated to support multi-language support. Administrators can now customize the text the text for the labels displayed on Secure Release printers in an organization’ preferred languages.
The Pharos Cloud Web Console now includes a drop-down list of supported languages within the Secure > Theme tab located just above the labels. Selecting a language allows administrators to edit the login label text specific to the chosen language. Note that choosing a language does not set the language for Secure Release or devices secured by Secure Release. Secure Release merely chooses the prompts to display based on the language set on the device itself.
Editing the language of labels on the Secure Release device
You can change the language of the following text of your Secure Release-enabled printer:
MFP
Secure Print Login Title
Lock Screen Image Text
Keyboard Login Tex
Direct Access Button Text (HP Only)
Login Screen
Password Login Label
Badge Registration
Title
Message
To change the language of a label:
Navigate to the Secure > Theme tab on the web console.
In the MFP, Login Screen, or Badge Registration section, select the label you want to customize.
In the drop-down menu found at the top of each label, select the language you want to edit.
Customize the text as desired.
Click Save Changes for the changes to take effect.
Ricoh Pull Print: Support for IPP Driver
In the previous release, we introduced support for Print Scout to transmit the spool file format (e.g., PDF, XPS, PCL, PostScript, URF) of the submitted document to the Pharos Cloud. This file information is utilized by Ricoh devices for releasing print jobs. While Print Scouts returned jobs in PDF format using the IPP driver, PDF jobs did not have finishing options within the spool file. Specifically, the finishing options for Pull Print on Ricoh devices were not reflected in the IPP Driver. This release addresses this issue by adding support for finishing options on the IPP Driver.

Enhanced user experience for small screen printers
For small screen printers with a width less than 500 pixels, users will now see only the "Welcome" message after authentication. This adjustment ensures a cleaner and more streamlined interface for smaller screens. For printers with a width above 500 pixels, the full username will be displayed on the next line after the "Welcome" message.
Default scan options are now supported for Toshiba
This update simplifies the scanning process on Secure Release printers. Users no longer have to navigate through various scan options. With this update, selecting scan options is now easier and quicker. We’ve added default scan options for Toshiba devices, which were available exclusively to Konica Minolta devices only and not available on other printer manufacturers.
The default scan options are as follows:
File Format: pdf
Color Mode: BlackAndWhite1
Paper Size: LT
Two-sided/One-sided: Simplex
Quality: DPI 200x200
Orientation: portrait
Note: This feature was introduced for Konica Minolta devices in the last release.
Improved stability during card authentication for HP and KM cloud-connected devices
Improvements were implemented to enhance the stability of Signal R connections during card authentication on HP and KM cloud-connected devices.
SECURE RELEASE SITE SERVICE BUG FIXES
The following lists the bugs fixed in this new version of Secure Release Site Service:
Fixed HP Legic Card Reader issues
Fixed the problem where not choosing the HP Legic card reader option from the web console before connecting it to the printer could cause the card reader to malfunction.
Fixed the problem where the Site Service couldn't differentiate between MFP24(X3) and HP Legic card types (4Q), causing card readers to break.
Fixed the following Toshiba Secure Scan issues
The error message displayed when scan options are not supported was unclear. With this update, the user interface now accurately presents an appropriate error message when scan option combinations are not supported. It also now guides users on what actions to take.
Default scan options were not being set, requiring users to manually configure them each time, has been resolved.
Fixed the following Secure Scan issues:
Resolved the issue where Secure Release populates different information for Scan-To when swiping a card vs. manual login. When using Secure Release, folders created did not reflect the user's name as expected. Instead, the folders were generated with the user's card number used for login.
Secure Scan is not supported on Single-Function Devices (SFDs). This update resolved the issue where selecting "Secure Scan" on Single-Function Devices (SFDs) causes the printer to get stuck in scanning mode. Now, when a user chooses "Secure Scan" on SFDs, a message will appear indicating that Secure Scanning is not supported. This feature is available exclusively on KM, Toshiba, and Lexmark devices.
The problem associated with the "Scan To OneDrive" feature triggering a 49.DE.05 error (displaying Insufficient Memory) when a user has more than about 70 files stored in the root directory of their Microsoft OneDrive account has been addressed. After applying this update, users can now scan to OneDrive with no issues even with over 15 GB of OneDrive space available (equivalent to approximately more than 500 files), without encountering the error.
Resolved an issue where the Secure Release icon appeared blurry on devices with a high-resolution display panel.
Addressed the issue where printers displayed an "unable to install Secure Release app" message when attempting to secure the device.
In the SE50 print user interface, some sections were not fully translated into the chosen language and remained in English. This update has addressed the problem, ensuring that all interface components are now accurately translated into the selected language.
Resolved the intermittent 15-minute delay that occurred upon device restart before enabling login with a badge swipe again.
The issue where the “Pharos Sentry Print Site Service” crashes during” Stop" action and failing to restart has been addressed. Previously, when administrators clicked the "Restart" button in the Services window, the Site Service would crash during the stop action and does not start up again. After this update, initiating a restart of the Sentry Print Service should now successfully start it up.
Xerox Copy/Scan Job accounting appears in the second iteration of login. It now appears on the first login.
Addressed an issue affecting user sessions upon device restart. Previously, users might find themselves unexpectedly logged in when the device restarted during an active session. With this update, a fix has been implemented to ensure that upon device restart, users are correctly logged out, preventing any unintended access or security concerns.
Fixed the issue where devices fail to connect after server restart with Public User Authentication On (Without Login). Devices can now successfully reconnect to the server following a restart, even with Public User Authentication On (Without Login).
LIMITATIONS AND KNOWN ISSUES
Limitations:
Secure Scan will not be a supported feature for KM Cloud and Xerox Primelink printers.
KM Cloud: Card logout functionality is exclusively supported in KM iSeries printers for KM Cloud.
Known Issues:
Public User Access Settings with KM Printer Secured through SE50
When a KM printer is secured through SE50, the default public user access setting is set to "Allow (with login)." However, if an administrator changes this setting to "Allow (without login)" from the printer's web interface, users may encounter an issue where they need to swipe their card twice for successful login from the printer's home screen.
When the default setting "Allow (with login)" is changed to "Allow (without login)," users experience the need to swipe their card twice for successful login. Upon the initial card swipe, instead of displaying the expected Pharos page, the printer redirects to the device's home page, failing to log in the user. Users will need to swipe their card again log in.
Konica Minolta Cloud-Connected Devices: Users will not be redirected back to the Secure Print app when accessing the More Device Functions function
When users access the "More Device Functions", they will not be able to return to the Secure Print app. To resume using the Secure Print app, users must first log out from the device (not the Secure Print app) and then log back in to Secure Print using valid credentials.
IMPORTANT NOTES
Re-securing is essential for Ricoh and Lexmark printers to enable the deployment of new certified files. If you wish to use the new Ricoh IPP driver options, resecuring the device is necessary to implement the latest updates.
Lexmark: 1.6.0.0 (Framework 7 printers support) Previous version 1.5.0.4
Ricoh: 1.5.0 (IPP driver fix for Print options + Support of new devices) Previous version 1.4.0
