Configuring Compatible Queues
The Compatible Queues feature allows users to submit print jobs to a queue on one print server and release the same jobs from a different print server.
In order for Compatible Queues to work the following steps must be taken.
All Queues that are to be selected as compatible MUST use a compatible printer driver and configuration. It is highly recommended that the same driver is used for all compatible queues to avoid conflicts. Mismatched drivers, print processors or configurations can cause issues.
Users must exist in the Pharos database, or a custom solution must be implemented to allow user authentication.
In order for print jobs from Compatible Queues to be visible at the release devices the job listings on those devices must show only the logged on users jobs. This setting is found in different locations depending on the device used for job release.
Pharos PC Station: Set the filter "Print Jobs Shown" to "Jobs Whose Owner = User's Logon ID." This setting is found in Pharos Administrator in "Release Stations > Pharos Stations > [select the station] > Print Job Organization"
Omega Terminal: Set the filter "Show All Print Jobs" to "No." This setting is found in Pharos Administrator in "Release Stations > Network Terminals > [select the Omega] > Printer."
Pharos iMFP: Set the filter "Show All Print Jobs" to "No." This setting is found in Pharos Administrator in "Release Stations > Network Terminals > [select the iMFP] > Session."
NOTE: The Pharos System does not check that the Queues you selected are configured with compatible print drivers, you must ensure this yourself.
