Article summary

Error:

When installing the Pharos Database I receive the following error "Corrupt install File!" right after trying to enter the SQL Server 'sa' password to begin the installation.

Resolution:

  1. The error can occur when the SQL Server file OSQL.exe is either not found or an incompatibile version. On the Pharos CD Image in the directory ..\common\win32\osql, you'll find an exe with a long name.  Copy this file to the server you are installing on under Program Files (x86)\SQL Server\100\Tools\Binn, and then rename it OSQL.EXE or copy it to the root of C:.  Restart the setup and it should complete successfully.

  2. The error can occur when the 'sa' password contains spaces (or special charcters). The Pharos installer does not handle these correctly. Create simple password without spaces and special characters and the installation will continue.
