Using the Nerve Center application, staff members can create block reservations for a group of users.
These block reservation can include computers that already have sessions scheduled for them at the time of the block reservation. What happens to these scheduled reservations?
Existing scheduled reservations are cancelled to make way for the block reservation.
The affected users must be informed that their reservations have been cancelled. The Cancelled Scheduled Reservations report can be used to generate a list of users who must be informed that their reservations have been cancelled.
NOTE: The exception to this rule is when the affected session is already in progress at the time the block reservation is made. In this case, the session proceeds as normal, and the computer is not included in the block reservation.
Example:
At 10:45, a staff member creates a one hour block reservation for PC1, PC2 and PC3, starting at 11:00.
PC1 has no sessions scheduled for it between 11:00 and 12:00, so is included in the block reservation.
PC2 has a session scheduled to start at 11:30. This session conflicts with the block reservation, so it is cancelled. PC2 is included in the block reservation.
PC3 has a session in progress, which started at 10:30 and will run until 11:30. Because this session is already in progress, it is not affected by the block reservation. PC3 is not included in the reservation.
In order to be sure that all PCs will be included in a block reservation, make sure to create it well in advance of the reservation start time.
