Problem:
You need to obtain an SNMP Walk from a Printer, and are wondering how can you do this to send to Pharos Support.
Solution:
To begin the process of obtaining an SNMP Walk from a printer using the Device Scout Discovery Tool, first you need to run the Device Scout Discovery Tool.
*This is found in the Windows Start Menu and you can search for "Device Scout Discovery".
You will now see the tool with the list of your configured IP Addresses or Ranges.
Click on the "Scan Now" button. Once the Scan is started you will see the expanded window like below.
*In this example I only have one IP Address I am scanning, you may have many.
Next, right-click on the "Name" value and select "Device Walk".
You will be presented with a dialog that allows you to save the ZIP file it creates.
The default file paths the ZIP file will be saved to depends on which Cloud product you are using.
Pharos Cloud Default file path: C:\ProgramData\PharosSystems\DeviceScout\Diagnostics\HP_PageWide Color 556_192.168.50.113.zip
HP Insights Default file path: C:\ProgramData\HP\DeviceScout\Diagnostics\HP_PageWide Color 556_192.168.50.113.zip
While it is running you will see the progress dialog like below.
Please Note: This can take anywhere from 3-5 minutes or more to complete while the Device Scout scraps the MIB and the web pages of the device itself.
Once it is complete you can locate the ZIP file in the file path you specified or in the default path listed above and you will see the below dialog once completed with the path it was saved to.
Lastly, provide to the Support Team for further review.
