Question:
My computer has Print Scout installed, but it is missing a “Secure Queue.” What should I do?
Solution:
This may be the result of an unregistered Print Scout. It also could be the result of a user simply deleting the print queue.
Windows
- Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\PharosSystems\PrintScout.
- Double click on Configuration.exe to launch Print Scout Configuration Utility.
- Click “Test” to verify connectivity to cloud service.
- Click Registration on the left panel and click “Check Registration” to verify registration of the Print Scout against the cloud service.
- Open Windows Services Console.
- Restart Pharos Systems Print Scout Spooler Service service.
- Verify a new Secure Queue print queue has been created.
Mac
- Click on the magnify glass icon locating on the upper right corner of the top menu bar.
- Type /library/application support/pharos/printscout and double click PrintScout folder shown in the returned result.
- Double click on “Print Scout Configuration” and enter Mac’s password to launch Print Scout Configuration Utility.
- Click “Test” button to verify connectivity to cloud service.
- Click Registration, then click “Check Registration” to verify registration of the Print Scout against the cloud service.
- Open Terminal and type commands below to stop and start com.pharos.SpoolerService.
sudo launchctl stop com.pharos.SpoolerService
sudo launchctl start com.pharos.SpoolerService - Verify a new Secure Queue print queue has been created.
Linux
- Open the Terminal.
- Type the following command and press Enter.
sudo systemctl restart “pharos-sso.service”. - Enter your superuser password when prompted.
- Verify a new Secure Queue print queue has been created.
