Issue Description
You have to upgrade your PayPal payment method to Advanced Card Processing, which includes Venmo, Google Pay, and Apple Pay, on your Pharos Uniprint and Mobile Print integration as the Paypal payment processing has contacted you to upgrade your payment method to 'Advanced Card Processing,' which includes adding Venmo, Google Pay, and Apple Pay. And you're wondering what would be the impact on your PayPal gateway with our Pharos products, Uniprint, and Mobile Print.
Our Response
Current Supported PayPal Checkout Method
- The only PayPal Checkout method currently supported by the Pharos integration is "Web Accept."
- Other transaction types, including eCheck, Express Checkout, Refunds, and Advanced Card Processing (which includes Venmo, Google Pay, and Apple Pay), are NOT supported.
Impact of Upgrading to Advanced Card Processing
- If you upgrade to Advanced Card Processing and "Web Accept" is no longer available as the primary transaction method, Pharos Uniprint and Mobile Print will stop functioning correctly for PayPal transactions.
- This could result in transaction failures and prevent users from completing their payments.
Recommendation for Customers Considering the Upgrade
- Verify whether "Web Accept" can remain enabled alongside Advanced Card Processing.
- If PayPal allows both methods to coexist, Pharos integration should remain functional.
- If "Web Accept" is fully replaced, Pharos payment processing will no longer work with PayPal.
