Question:
We're attempting to change the SSL certificate on our Uniprint server to a globalsign signed certificate rather than the one signed by www.pharos.com so that when users access My Print Center, they get a validated SSL connection. One of the problems we've discovered is that our PS200 devices won't connect to the server over SSL without the pharos signed cert in use. Is there any documentation regarding changing the system configuration so that the PS200 devices will accept a different SSL certificate?
Answer:
Please see the steps below.
Login to Omega device and navigate to the transfer Files section under the System section.
Select "CACertificates.crt" from the download list and download the file.
Start with your CA Certificate, open this in Notepad and copy the text.
Open the "CACertificates.crt" file in notepad and copy your CA Certificate text under the existing one. so the text file now looks like below.
For each Certificate in the Certificate Chain on your server you will need to add each of those to this file. If your certificate on your server is something like below for example then you will need to add each one.
This is done by selecting each one and saving it to a file using Base-64 encoding.
The Copy to file button allows you to chose where and the encoding of the file. Once this is saved to disk somewhere you can open it in notepad and add it to the bottom of the CACertificate.crt file.It will start to look like this.
Once you now have them all concatenated in one file you upload this same file to the Omega device again using the same web page where you downloaded the file. Select CACertificate.crt from the dropdown and upload your file, the filename is Case Sensitive.
