Pharos CS Gold Gateway

Overview

The Pharos CS Gold Gateway allows Pharos products to interact with the CBORD CS Gold Billing System. Users can use funds from their CS Gold account to pay for Pharos transactions.

Applies to

  • Uniprint 9.0 and greater

  • CBORD CS Gold Billing System integrations

Installation

  1. Run CSGoldSetup.msi on the machine where the Gateway service will run.

  2. Accept the installation directory. The installer detects existing Pharos components and may offer the existing installation path by default.

  3. Confirm that the Gateway service is registered in Windows Services.

  4. Configure and start the service using the configuration utility available after installation. The utility is also available from Program Files > Pharos > Gateways.

  5. Install BillPlugSetup.msi on each Pharos Print Server that will use the Gateway.

  6. Configure the Billing Plug-in to point to the Gateway machine.

Installation Notes

  • The Gateway and Billing Plug-in can be installed on Windows 7 and later.

  • The installer requires .NET Framework 4.5.

  • This Gateway requires the BillPlugSetup.msi Billing Plug-in.

Configuration

The Gateway and Billing Plug-in can be configured during installation or later. Both must be configured correctly before the Gateway service will start and operate properly.

Restart the Gateway service after making configuration changes.

Gateway Service

Incoming Port: The TCP/IP port used by the Pharos Billing Plug-in to connect to the Gateway. The default port is 2111 and is configured in both the Gateway and Plug-in. If you change this port, update the Billing Plug-in configuration as well.

CS Gold Server

Host Name: The host name or IP address of the machine running the CS Gold Billing Service.

Port: The TCP/IP port used by the Gateway to connect to the Billing Service. The default port is 23801. If you change this port, update the Billing Service configuration as well.

Protocol: The security protocol used to connect to the Billing Service. The default is None.

Ignore All Certificate Errors: Allows unverified certificates, such as self-signed certificates, for testing. For production servers, use a certificate signed by a trusted certificate authority.

Miscellaneous Settings

Configure the Code Map and Operator settings using the values provided by CBORD. These settings are mandatory and have no default values.

Card Types

Define the card types used at the site. At least one card type is required.

Provide a sample Card ID. The card-type configuration wizard uses it to define the card layout and format restrictions. Extend the default regular expression if necessary. For complex regular expressions, consult the supplied Regular Expressions help file.

Local IP

Configure this setting if the computer running the Odyssey Billing Gateway has multiple network cards. Odyssey PCS accepts connections only from known IP addresses, so this setting specifies the IP address used by the Odyssey Billing Gateway.

Configure Pharos Administrator

After installing and configuring the Gateway and Plug-in:

  1. In Pharos Administrator, create a Bank that uses billplug.exe as its Billing Plug-in.

  2. Select this Bank for all Pharos Stations that use the CS Gold server for charging.

Testing

Test balance and debit batch files are installed with the Billing Plug-in in:

Pharos\\Bin\\Gateway\\Plug-in

Edit the batch files with valid Card IDs and the Pharos Station External Name. Use genuine details that exist in the CS Gold host to test connectivity with the Gateway and Billing Service before engaging the Pharos system.

Upgrading

Upgrade the Gateway by running the new installer.

The upgraded Gateway works with an existing installed Billplug.exe, so the Billing Plug-in does not need to be upgraded.

Uninstalling

Uninstall the Gateway through Windows Add/Remove Programs. The configuration settings are retained after uninstall for future reference.

Logging

Use the Pharos Logsetter utility to configure Gateway logging. Logsetter is installed with Services in Uniprint 8.2 and later.
