About this Software
The Print Scout is the Blueprint Enterprise component that is installed on all workstations (including laptops). Its core task is to record jobs as they are printed. When installed on a macOS workstation, the Print Scout provides the following features:
Policy Print
Secure Release Here® job list
Unauthenticated Print Scout login
The Print Scout for macOS shares common features with the Windows component. These features include:
Collects information about the machine on which it is installed (e.g. operating system version).
Sends regular heartbeats to indicate that it is running and monitoring printing on the machine on which it is installed.
Will batch print job information to send after- hours to limit the impact on the network.
The Print Scout does not replace any operating system components to ensure that its functionality is available without requiring changes to your print environment. This also allows the Print Scout to support proprietary print drivers that replace components of the operating system’s print process to achieve advanced functionality.

Deployment and Configuration Guide
The Deployment and Configuration Guide for the Print Scout for macOS is included in the software download.
A Note About the Deployment Package
Take the following precaution prior to making the necessary configuration changes and deploying the software. This removes the "Quarantine" attribute from the download. If the "Quarantine" attribute exists prior to extraction and configuration, the resulting installation will either prove difficult or unsuccessful. An example of a failure is shown below.
Removing the Quarantine attribute from the Print Scout for macOS package:
Copy the ".zip" file to a macOS machine.
Launch Terminal.app.
Run the following command: xattr -d com.apple.quarantine {Path}/{ZIPfileName} and then run it. EXAMPLE: If the name of the .zip file is BlueprintPrintScoutmacOS.zip and it is copied to the Mac's desktop, the command would be xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Users/JSmith/Desktop/BlueprintPrintScoutmacOS.zip
Prepare the package per the directions in the Deployment Guide and deploy.
