Support for Mobile Submission

Using the Beacon Sentry Print mobile app, employees can now submit documents from their mobile devices. Previously, the app allowed employees to only release documents (if using Mobile Release).

Employees must first download or update the Beacon Sentry Print app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (for Android). The app installs a secure printer profile that enables driverless printing using IPP-Everywhere technology.

Note: Existing mobile app users will need to re-register their mobile devices to Sentry Print.

New Beacon Settings

There are two new settings in the Secure > Settings screen:

• Cloud Storage – This setting allows you to enable or disable cloud storage. When Cloud Storage is disabled, print documents are stored and encrypted on the user’s local workstation only. When Cloud Storage is enabled, print documents are stored and encrypted both in the cloud and user workstations.

• Mobile Submission – This setting allows you to enable or disable Mobile Submission. When Mobile Submission is enabled, print users can submit documents using a mobile device (via the Beacon Sentry Print mobile app).

Note: The Document Handling section was referred to as Job Handling in previous releases.

Batch Card Import (for Email Authentication)

Organizations set up for email authentication can now batch register proximity cards via CSV upload. In the previous release, batch card import was supported only for Active Directory and OpenID authentication providers.

With batch card import, IT administrators simply create a CSV file with employees’ proximity card numbers and their corresponding emails. This CSV file is imported into Sentry Print, and employees can start printing securely with their pre-registered cards. No extra steps are required.

Multiple Language support for Secure Printers

Printers (iMFPs) running Secure Print now support translations to the following languages:

• Spanish

• English

• Simplified Chinese

• Portuguese (Portugual)

• Portuguese (Brazil)

• Swedish

• Dutch

• Norwegian
