Secure Print Failover for Windows/Mac* (preview)

Secure Print introduces the new Secure Print Failover for Windows and Mac users to ensure that users can continue printing even if a problem is detected. You can enable the Secure Print Failover feature by enabling the Offline Print setting. Once Offline Print is enabled, employees can continue to print even in the event of a problem or internet outage.
Once a customer has opted into Offline Printing as a failover option, it can be triggered by one of two methods:
Automatic service interuption detection - Secure Print actively monitors the health of key components of the cloud services that are critical for users to be able to print. If an issue is detected in one of these services, it will automatically trigger offline printing for all users so that they can continue to print while teams work to resolve the issue. Once the issue has been corrected, normal secure printing functionality will automatically resume.
Manual push by IT administrator - While Secure Print’s automatic health monitoring is the system’s preferred line of defence to keep users printing, at times there may be issues at individual locations that the system is unable to detect. In the event that our customers suffer an issue that we’re unable to automatically detect, Secure Print is committed to continue to keep users printing. IT administrators have the ability to manually trigger offline printing for all users so that business operations can continue. Once the issue has been resolved, the IT administrator can manually put users back into secure printing mode.

Improved iOS Printing Setup
The Sentry Print mobile app now includes a Print a Test Page function. On iOS devices, this simplifies the configuration for first-time print users by handling authentication up front.
Subsequent print submissions will no longer prompt the user for their credentials, using the saved pre-authenticated information, enabling users print documents faster and easier than ever before!
User Registration Removal API
The User Removal API introduced in the previous release was targeted to remove a batch of print users and all their associated registrations.
This release adds the new User Registration Removal API which provides admins with more granular control over which details get removed from a specific user. This new API allows administrators to programmatically remove any combination of user registrations for a batch of registered print users via a CSV (Comma Separated Value) file. The API allows admins to remove one or more of any of the following logins:
1 = PIN
2 = Proximity Card
3 = PIN and Proximity Card
You can find the new API on the Secure > Advanced screen of the Secure Print web portal.
Improved supportability for MFP administration
Administrators can now change the configuration of any MFP device fleet without having to submit a support request. We’ve promoted several of the most commonly used settings to the web administration portal, giving customers control over these options. To take advantage of these settings, navigate to Secure > Settings > Secure Print Settings.
Require authentication for all device functions* – Customers who find that print is not their primary workflow, may choose to disable this setting. When set to OFF, authentication is required only for the Secure Print application. Customers can then take advantage of the manufacturers device administration to specify which applications they wish to require users to authenticate in order to use.
Note: Requires devices to be re-secured for the setting to take effect.Supported MFP 24 proximity card types* – Specify the MFP 24 card types that your organization supports. You can enter up to four MFP 24 proximity card read types. The setting includes two of the most common MFP 24 proximity card types: 6F01 and EF04.
Number of documents displayed on device – Control the number of documents displayed on a device. The default value is 50 documents and the maximum value is 150 documents.
Note: Some devices have a limit to the number of documents that can be displayed at one time. The default is set to 50 for optimal experience across most devices.

Other Changes to the Settings Screen
The Enable Proximity Card Registration is now under the Secure Print > Settings section. This setting used to be in the Proximity Card Settings section, which has now been removed in this release.
