Overview

Toshiba e-STUDIO6525AC may fail to secure in Pharos Cloud Beacon after device configuration changes, discovery, or credential updates. The failure can appear as invalid administrator credentials, service unavailable, or “the event/address combination is not registered.”

Applies to

  • Pharos Cloud

  • Beacon

  • Sentry Print

  • Toshiba e-STUDIO6525AC

  • Device Scout and Sentry Print Service

Symptoms

When you attempt to secure the printer, one or more of the following may occur:

  • Deployment logs report `invalid admin credentials`.

  • Beacon reports `Service unavailable`.

  • The printer does not appear in the correct Beacon network range.

  • Deployment logs report `the event/address combination is not registered`.

  • The printer remains unsecured after discovery, credential updates, or a factory reset.

Cause

  • The printer’s network range might not be present in Beacon Networks, preventing the Device Scout and printer from being associated with the same network segment.

  • The device might have undergone configuration and credential changes, which required rediscovery and a refreshed device state.

  • A known working clone file might have been applied during testing, so the clean device configuration had not initially been isolated.

  • After the printer was reconfigured according to the Toshiba readiness guidance, the securing attempt continued to return an event or address registration error until the printer was rebooted.

The initial invalid administrator credential message should still be treated as a genuine credential or device-state problem until the credentials are verified. Do not assume that credentials or configuration from another Toshiba device are valid for the affected printer.

Resolution

  1. Confirm that the device is the exact Toshiba model being secured: e-STUDIO6525AC.

  2. Confirm that the administrator credentials stored in Beacon match the current administrator credentials on the printer.

  3. In Beacon, go to Secure > Networks.

  4. Confirm that the printer IP address and the Device Scout server are included in the same configured network range.

  5. If the range is missing, add the correct printer range and save the change.

  6. Run Device Scout discovery again, then refresh the device information in Beacon.

  7. If the printer remains in an inconsistent state, remove the affected printer from Beacon and rediscover it.

  8. If a factory reset is required, perform the reset and test securing the printer without applying a clone file or external profile.

  9. Confirm the Toshiba readiness requirements, including network, DNS, authentication, SSL/TLS, and required print-service settings.

  10. Attempt to secure the printer again.

  11. If the deployment log reports the event/address combination is not registered, reboot the Toshiba printer and retry the securing operation.

  12. Validate the result by confirming that the device secures successfully, can be unsecured successfully, and can then be secured again.

  13. Test authentication and the required printer functions before closing the case.

Notes

  • Use the Toshiba Integrated Printer Readiness guide for Toshiba-specific prerequisites. Toshiba devices require vendor-specific settings and must not be treated as equivalent to HP, Blueprint, or Uniprint deployments.

  • A network range must include the relevant printer and Device Scout components for Beacon network assignment and securing to work correctly.

  • Record the printer firmware and ROM versions when escalating
