Uniprint 9.2 Pharos IPP Service Update 26.8.2501

Before You Start

This hot-fix should be applied to installations using Uniprint Suite 9.2. This update should only take a few minutes to complete.

This version requires the .NET 10 Windows Server Hosting bundle version 10.0.12 or later on the server. The installer stops with an error if only .NET 8 is installed.

Installation

The update affects the Pharos IPP Service and should be applied to all machines running the Pharos IPP Service. The IPP Service receives print jobs from the Pharos Chrome extension for Chromebooks and browsers.

To apply the update:

  1. Make sure IIS is installed, then install the .NET 10 Windows Server Hosting bundle on each Pharos Print Server where the IPP Service is installed. Restart the server if the bundle installer requests it. The .NET 8 hosting bundle can remain installed.
  2. Download PharosIPPServiceSetup.msi from the Pharos Hot Fixes web page.
  3. Copy the MSI file to a temporary location on each Pharos Print Server where the IPP Service is installed. Double-click the MSI and follow the on-screen instructions. The update replaces the installed version of the Pharos IPP Service.
  4. After installing the Pharos IPP Service, perform a health check in a browser:
https://servername/ipp/health-check

Note: Replace servername with your server details. If HTTP Error 502.5 - ANCM Out-Of-Process Startup Failure is returned, restart the Windows Process Activation Service.

Applying this update constitutes acceptance of the conditions specified in your license agreement. To view the license agreement, refer to the license.rtf file on your Pharos CD.

Details

This update addresses the following issues:

  • Pharos IPP Service update for .NET 10. The Pharos IPP Service now runs on .NET 10, replacing .NET 8. Install the .NET 10 Windows Server Hosting bundle before installing this update.
  • Installing on servers without IIS 6 Metabase Compatibility. The installer now works on servers that do not have the IIS 6 Metabase Compatibility feature, for example Windows Server 2025. It uses the default Pharos location in that case. (UP-28178)
