Article summary

Challenge:

Some customers have a requirement to relocate the Pharos Updater Service, package and log file folders to a drive other than C:. Eliminating the chance for drive space issues on the operating system drive.

Solution:

The following steps apply to Pharos 9.1 and later.

  1. On the Uniprint Principal server, open Pharos administrator, go to System > Updater Service and click "Edit Configuration" in the upper right corner.

  2. Select Advance Settings > Program Data Location and enter a new location to store the Updater Service files.

    For example D:\ProgramData\PharosSystems\UpdaterService.

    • There is no need to create the new folder ahead of time, the Updater Service will create it automatically.

  3. Click Save and close the Edit Configuration page.

  4. Restart Pharos Systems Updater Service on Principal server first and then on the remaining Uniprint servers.

    • Please verify that the UpdaterService folder gets created in the new location.

It is now safe to delete the UpdaterService folder from the default location C:\ProgramData\PharosSystems directory.
