How do I enable the Pharos LDAP Plug-in to authenticate against version 3 of LDAP?

  1. Make sure you are running the LDAP Plug-in that is supplied as an attachment to this article.

  2. To turn on version 3, you need to create a DWORD registry entry:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Pharos\LDAP Plugin\use LDAP version3

    Set the value to 1

Note: If SSL is used, LDAP version 3 will always be used, regardless of this value, as SSL is only supported by version 3.
