How to Resolve the Last Status Read Not Updating Issue

Problem

You may encounter situations where the Last Status Read (Fleet > Status) for devices are not updating. 

Solution

You will need to carry out the following steps: 

  • Verify the last heartbeat of the device scout associated with the device 
  • Increase the SNMP timeout value for collection and discovery.  The default value is 2000ms (2 seconds), which often is not enough time for the target printer to provide a reply.  We recommend increasing the timeout to 4000ms (4 seconds) and then wait a couple days (24 – 72hrs) to measure the results 
    • To do this, in your Device Scout tab, select the device scout in use and click on Configure 
    • On the General and Discover tab, increase the Timeout value under the communications settings to 4000
