Pharos Cloud - How to Resolve an Incorrect Password error when Securing an HP Printer

Prev Next

Problem:

After configuring an HP printer and adding it to Pharos Cloud, I am receiving an error message like below of an incorrect password. This is happening regardless of the securing of the device using the DDU (Device Discovery Utility - Cloud Connector) or an on-premise Sentry Print Service to secure the device with.

Resolution:

The securing operation of an HP device requires the computer performing the securing operation to be able to connect to the printer over TCP 7627. Please ensure that from the computer performing the securing operation that TCP 7627 is open outbound to the printers IP Address.

If that does not resolve the issue, please use the link below to enable verbose Sentry Print Service logging and try again.

Or, if you are using the DDU application tool you can provide the log.txt file from the DDU folder ‘.\discovery-deployment-utility’ in where you have the DDU application folder located.

Then please open a case with our Support Team and provide one of the log files mentioned above.
