Installation steps for Uniprint 8.3 and later

  1. Follow the instructions below for each Pharos Print Server

  2. Locate the Pharos Secure Release directory.  The default location is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Pharos\SecureRelease"

  3. Rename or copy the current versions of the Page Counter files as a backup.  There are multiple files named PCounter.* depending upon your current version.  For example, rename the files below.

    pcounter.exe --> pcounter.exe.backup

    pcounter.papers --> pcounter.papers.backup

    pcounter.pdl --> pcounter.pdl.backup

    pcounter.ps --> pcounter.ps.backup

  4. Unzip and copy all of the new Page Counter files into the Pharos Secure Release directory.

  5. The changes take effect immediately.  No need to restart any Pharos services.

  6. Repeat steps 2-5 for each Pharos Print Server

  7. Complete
