Article summary

As of version 8.0 of the Pharos Solution Suite, the NT Logon Plug-in is no longer supported. This plug-in and its associated Bank will not be installed in new installs. It is not removed in an upgrade of an existing site, but Pharos recommends that all sites migrate to the more reliable and compatible Active Directory LDAP Plug-in.

The Active Directory LDAP Plug-in executables are available on the Pharos CD at tools\plugins\ADLDAP. Installing or upgrading to Pharos 8.0 or later copies these files to the Pharos\bin directory, and creates a new AD LDAP Bank.

In order to migrate from the NT Logon Plug-in to the Active Directory LDAP Plug-in:

  1. Configure the AD LDAP Plug-in. See the plug-in's readme file (attached) for details.

  2. Set all Pharos components that use the NT Logon Bank to use the new AD LDAP Bank. This includes Print Services, SignUp Services and Pharos Stations.

Note: You can configure and test the AD LDAP Plug-in without removing the NT Logon Plug-in.
