Introduction
This update to the Blueprint Print Scout includes the ability to install a secured queue on Windows 10 clients that utilizes IPPS to send the print job to the Pharos IPP Service (available with Blueprint 5.3 Update 3). This is a true manufacturer-agnostic printer driver that supports the majority of needs:
Color and Monochrome output
Single-sided and Double-sided output
Collation
Stapling
Paper size selection
Deploying the IPPS Secured Queue
To deploy the IPP Service queue to Windows 10 clients, install the latest version of the Print Scout (beginning with v7.21.11.1). Installing the Print Scout installs the Pharos IPP Secure Print Driver, which installs an IPP queue on users’ workstations. You can use an automated software installation utility to automatically install the Print Scout package on multiple machines.
Run the following command to deploy the IPP Service queue to Windows 10 clients:
Blueprint_PrintScoutInstaller.exe /serverurl=servername /ippserver=fullyqualified servername
Where:
/serverurl = The URL of the Blueprint server (Analyst/Collector) the Print Scout communicates with.
/ippserver = The URL of the Blueprint Collector where the Pharos IPP Service is installed. This argument installs the Pharos IPP Secure Print Driver, which installs the IPP queue.
Example:
Blueprint_PrintScoutInstaller.exe /serverurl=mp-2016 /ippserver=mp-2016.vmdomain.local
Notes:
A fully qualified domain name is required for the ippserver URL.
The IPP queue uses the Pharos IPP Secure Print driver.
