Pharos Sentry Print Service 2607.1001.5425 Release Notes
This release notes detail enhancements and bug fixes for the Pharos Sentry Print Service across multiple device platforms, including Ricoh, HP, Konica Minolta, and Device Scout. The updates improve usability, deployment efficiency, and system stability.
The component included in this update is:
Component | Version | MSI Version |
|---|---|---|
Sentry Print Service | 2607.1001.5425 | 26.7.14514.0 |
Note: Due to changes in the component versioning and limitations in MSI versioning, the Sentry Print Service now has two version numbers. The MSI version number is the one that will show in Window's "Add and Remove Programs".
Ricoh Enhancements
Logoff confirmation prompt control - The logoff confirmation prompt on Ricoh IM devices has been removed. Users are no longer presented with an unnecessary extra step when logging off the device.
Secure Print icon auto-placement - The Secure Print app icon is now automatically placed on the device home screen after securing. Previously, the icon was hidden in the device apps folder, requiring administrators to manually move it on each device individually, a particularly burdensome task in large-scale deployments.
Faster Re-securing of Ricoh Devices - Re-securing Ricoh devices has been significantly optimized. The process has been reduced from approximately 15-20 minutes to under 10 minutes per device, improving deployment speed for large-scale fleet updates.
Automatic Cloud Release readiness configuration- During device securing, Pharos Cloud automatically applies a required job release setting on Ricoh devices connected through Cloud Connector. This removes the need to manually configure that setting from the Ricoh Readiness Guide, while all other readiness steps remain unchanged. (This applies to Cloud Connector only.)
Large scan jobs failing on Ricoh device - Fixed an issue where scanning documents of 35 or more pages on secured Ricoh devices caused the Secure Print application to crash, requiring the MFD to be rebooted. Large scan jobs now complete successfully for all supported destinations.
IMPORTANT
After applying the update, existing secured Ricoh devices must be resecured for the following changes to take effect: Automatic Cloud Release Readiness Configuration, Logoff Confirmation Prompt Control, Large scan jobs failing, and Secure Print Icon Auto-Placement. Once the device has been resecured, verify that the updated version appears in Secure > Secure Printers.
Verify the Update
To verify that the Sentry Print update has been applied to Ricoh devices, go to Secure > Secure Printers and review the Cloud Secured, Secured Assembly, and Secured Version columns. The expected version depends on the connector type used to secure the device:
Cloud Connector
The Cloud Secured column displays a check mark.
Secured Assembly:
discovery-deployment-utilitySecured Version:
2.2.5
Local Connector
Secured Assembly:
Mps.Client.Mfp.ServiceSecured Version:
2607.1001.5425
If the Secured Assembly and Secured Version values match those listed above for your connector type, the update has been successfully applied. ck mark.

HP Enhancement
Feedback for Long-Running Print Jobs - Users now get clear, real-time prompts when a print job is still processing, so jobs are no longer left unattended at the device. If users try to log out (via the Logout button or badge swipe) while a job is still in progress, users will be asked to confirm: “Printing in progress. Signing out won't cancel your job. Sign out?”. Job failures, cancellations, device errors, and network interruptions are now handled gracefully, and logout prompts and user choices are captured in the Sentry Print Service audit logs.
Note: This update applies to Cloud Release only. Print Scout (push) release is not supported for job-status tracking due to platform limitations
Device Scout Enhancement
Uninstalling Device Scout from the Start Menu now includes options to control how completely the software is removed. After launching the uninstaller and approving the UAC (Windows security) prompt, a new selection screen replaces the standard Windows Installer dialog and offers two modes: Standard uninstall and Clean uninstall.

Both modes remove the Device Scout and Sentry Print Service applications; the difference is what data is left behind:
Standard uninstallremoves the applications but follows the existing workflow, intentionally preserving the certificate and configuration data folders so upgrades and reinstalls are unaffected. The retained folders are
C:\Program Files (x86)\PharosSystems\Sentry Print Service\App_Data
C:\ProgramData\PharosSystems\DeviceScout
C:\ProgramData\PharosSystems\Sentry Print Service
Clean uninstall fully removes all Device Scout and Sentry Print Service components, including binaries, services, configuration, certificates, logs, and the data folders listed above, leaving no residual folders behind, as if the apps were never installed.
Notes:
Uninstalls initiated from Control Panel > Programs and Features or Windows Settings > Apps remain unchanged. You won't see the new mode-selection screen, and the uninstall behaves exactly as it did before.
This feature is available from Device Scout v1.26.0.100.
Konica Minolta Bugfixes
The following fixes address issues impacting Konica Minolta MFP functionality and user workflows.
Unable to remove the Pharos Secure Print application from MFPs with blank administrator passwords - If a Konica Minolta MFP had a blank administrator password, the Pharos Secure Print application could be registered but could not be removed. Both registration and removal now work correctly regardless of the password configuration.
First card swipe fails to log in the user when the MFP has been idle - When a KM MFP had been idle for a period (login page no longer displayed, screensaver potentially shown), swiping a proximity card would briefly show a “waiting” screen followed by the login screen, but the user was not logged in. A second card swipe was required to authenticate. A single card swipe on an idle MFP now logs the user in immediately, as expected.
Other Bugfix (All supported devices)
Scan folder names displaying incorrectly on the device panel - Resolved an issue where folder names were not displayed correctly on supported devices when browsing OneDrive or SharePoint scan destinations. Folder names, including those containing special characters created directly in OneDrive or SharePoint, now render correctly on the device panel across all supported manufacturers.
