Uniprint 9.2 Release Notes Summary (All Updates)

Pharos Popup Package Controller

This update addresses the following issue:

• During install or upgrade of Popup Package where printer driver files are being updated and a version number of x.9 should be replaced by a file version x.10, this may fail due to an 'older version' check done by the Popup controller during install. This can result in the driver being only partially upgraded and not working. This hot fix improves the file version check capability to avoid this issue. For more information, refer to the Uniprint Service Packs and Hot Fixes  page.

SignUp Visitor Purge Stored Procedure Update

This update addresses the following issue:

• When the overnight task to purge expired SignUp Visitor records from the database was run, visitors with custom transactions recorded against their account were not purged. This update ensures that any such transactions are correctly anonymized and then the visitor record purged. For more information, refer to the Uniprint Service Packs and Hot Fixes  page.

Pharos Sentry Print Service Pharos

Pharos Print Sentry Service (v4.110.1)

• Improvements and support for new models. Improvements to Sentry Print support, including support for new models. Please see the Pharos Community for all supported manufacturers and models: Sentry Print Supported Manufacturers and Models

• Card swipe handling improvements can be enabled for cases where certain card swipe issues are experienced.

• Security update for Sentry Print with Xerox devices. This update addresses an issue where sensitive information could potentially be visible to administrators.

• Note: Support for this Sentry Print update requires:

  • Pharos Print Center version 5.0.30 or later

  • DotNet Core 6 hosting bundle

  • Both available on the Uniprint Hot Fixes download page: Uniprint Service Packs and Hot Fixes.

• Load balancing support for Pharos Sentry Print (SE50) has been added to the Sentry Print Site Service. Please refer to the Uniprint Load Balancing using HAProxy Technote.

Print Sentry Service (v3.76.6)

• Uniprint 9.2 introduced support for Pharos Sentry Print SE50, which provided print release and copy services for Ricoh devices only. This Pharos Sentry Print Service update adds support for HP, Canon, and KM devices. 

• Load balancing support for Pharos Sentry Print (SE50) has been added. Please refer to the Load Balancing document  in the Pharos Documentation.

Pharos Print Center

Notes:

• Print Center updates are cumulative; improvements and fixes in previous update versions are included in subsequent updates.

• In the case where you have the Print Center web component installed on a separate ARR Web Server, you will need to manually update the Web Server component to complete the update. Copy the Print Center MSI installer from the Pharos\Bin folder on the Pharos API server to the Pharos\Bin folder on the ARR server and run the MSI there.

Pharos Print Center 5.0.30.x

• Sentry Print Performance Update.  This update provides a performance improvement for 'first logon' to Sentry Print iMFPs following Change Control or IIS restart, or daily Pharos API cache update. 

• Sentry Print Cost Center charging.  When using the Print All release option on Sentry terminals with cost center charging, under certain conditions this could result in some print jobs not being charged to the cost center. This update addresses this issue.

Pharos Print Center 5.0.27.x

Security Update - Mandatory. Includes a security update to address a known security issue. This update includes and is additional to the security updates previously released in Print Center update 5.0.26.

Please note: Following the application of this update the 'Restart Pharos API' button (to apply SSO changes) under Print Center Settings in Pharos Administrator application will no longer work - IIS must be manually restarted for SSO settings to be applied. 

Pharos Print Center 5.0.26.x

• Following the application of this update the 'Restart Pharos API' button (to apply SSO changes) under Print Center Settings in Pharos Administrator application will no longer work. Please see the updated SSO Technote for new instructions.

• Site Security Utility. A new tool is available to use with 5.0.26 or later Print Center/Pharos API. This optional but recommended tool adds further protection to credentials used by the Pharos API for communication between Pharos API instances and for MobilePrint communication with Pharos API. The tool and instructions can be downloaded from Uniprint Service Packs and Hot Fixes .

Pharos Print Center 5.0.24.x

• Security Update - Sentry Print Services. A DotNet security update for the Secure Printer Provisioning Service removes dependency on an older version of DotNet Core, and implements support for DotNet Core 6. Warning: Following application of this update, securing of devices for Sentry Print will not function until the dotnet-hosting-6.0.15-win.exe hosting bundle (or a later version of 6.x) is installed on Pharos API Servers. The dotnet-hosting bundle can be found on the Uniprint hot fixes downloads page: Uniprint Service Packs and Hot Fixes

Pharos Print Center 5.0.23.x

• Gmail support in MobilePrint - security update. The Print Center has been updated to support changes in MobilePrint 2.4.4, using Google Mail as the Incoming Mail Server. Google has introduced additional security measures which affect new setups of MobilePrint and the renewal of authorization tokens. These changes result in authorization attempts being blocked by Google when configuring MobilePrint to use Google Mail (currently authorized instances continue to function). This update implements the required changes to work with Google's new security measures. This Print Center update requires MobilePrint 2.4.4 or later when using Google Mail for email job submission.

Pharos Print Center 5.0.22.x

• Pharos Print App. An issue in 5.0.21 Print Center, which caused a problem with print job scrolling on iOS devices has been addressed.

Pharos Print Center 5.0.21.x

• Pharos Print App. The Print Center application is updated to address the misalignment of job icons and details in the job list tab when viewed with the latest iOS updates.

• Duplex native jobs. An issue where Duplex native jobs (ie submitted via Popups or UNC printing) displayed with simplex page counts in the Pharos Print Center and the Print Center Release Station has been resolved.

• Print Center Release Station. The Print Center Release Station has been updated to display a running total of selected print jobs when run in Huge or Large mode, to match what is shown in Regular size mode.

•  Ignore the AWS environment. Old code that detected running in AWS has been updated to prevent issues in the presence of AWS.

Pharos Print Center 5.0.19.x

• Pharos Sentry Print - Xerox support. This update adds support for Sentry-capable Xerox devices for Sentry Print. This requires Sentry Print Site Service 3.83.0 or later.

• Pharos Sentry Print - CopyStop feature. This update adds support for the CopyStop feature provided by updates to the Sentry Print Site Service version 3.83.0 or later.

• Duplex native jobs. An issue where Duplex native jobs (ie submitted via Popups or UNC printing) displayed with simplex page counts in the Pharos Print Center and the Print Center Release Station has been resolved.

• Pharos Print Mobile App. The Print Center application is updated to address the misalignment of job icons and details in the job list tab when viewed with the latest iOS updates.

• Print Center Release Station. This update adds a running total for selected jobs when the Print Center Pharos Station is run in Huge or Large mode.

• User attributes from a CAS system. The Print Center application is updated to report additional attributes from the CAS system for SSO logon.

• Job Owner column. This update removes the sorting functionality on the Job Owner column under Admin >Queued Jobs and Printed Jobs tabs.

• Numeric passwords when logging onto Sentry SE50 terminals. This update corrects an issue in handling user passwords containing only numbers.

Pharos Print Service

Pharos Print Service 9.2.10000.328

Cashcard reader job 'processing' state. When using cardreaders at Pharos Stations, if a job release failed due to insufficient funds, the job would be set to a 'processing' state indefinitely and could no longer be managed by admin users via the Pharos Print Center. This update resolves this issue when used in conjunction with Pharos Station 9.2.10000.327 or later.

• Print Server resources consumed by Notify. An issue with Notify connections not being correctly handled has been addressed. This update should be applied where scripts use Notify functionality with Popup clients or where the built-in Cost Acceptance functionality is used.
