When a Konica Minolta copier or printer are secured with Pharos iMFP for KM v2.x, I have problems with card logins when the device is in sleep or low-power mode. How can I fix this?
This question applies to:
Pharos iMFP for Konica Minolta v2.2.10
Pharos iMFP for Konica Minolta v2.2.9
Pharos iMFP for Konica Minolta v2.2.6
Pharos iMFP for Konica Minolta v2.2.4
Pharos iMFP for Konica Minolta v2.2.2
Pharos iMFP for Konica Minolta v2.1.2
Konica Minolta bizhub models compatible with iMFP for KM v2.x
The resolution to this issue is multi-pronged.
Updating Pharos iMFP for Konica Minolta software
Update the iMFP for KM software on your server(s). The latest version can be found on https://community.pharos.com/s/article/Pharos-iMFP-Downloads-and-Resources. As of 30 Nov 2020, the current version is 2.2.10.
Follow the directions in the "Upgrade" guide.
Configure the iMFP for KM software
Once the software has been updated, edit Konica-Minolta.config located at C:\Program Files (x86)\PharosSystems\Pharos iMFP for Konica Minolta V2\App_Data\km. Run Notepad as an administrator to allow saving the changes.
Modify the values of "redirectDelay" and "unlockDelay" to 500 (so both will acquire a 500 millisecond delay during logon processing, adding one second to the overall authentication out of sleep or low power mode). NOTE: These are recommended starting values and will already be set in versions of iMFP v2 for KM higher than 2.2.10. Adjust up, beginning with the unlockDelay setting, if you still experience issues.
Save the file.
Restart the "Pharos iMFP v2 for Konica Minolta" service.
Upgrade the bizhub firmware.
Konica Minolta has made firmware changes that improve the "wake from sleep" experience.
Modify the Konica Minolta bizhub configuration.
Modify the "Low Power Settings" to High.
Modify "Sleep" to its highest value.
[New firmware only] Set "Hard Drive" to be On in sleep or low power mode.
