As of version 3.2, Blueprint Enterprise supports installation on the following non-English versions of Windows and SQL Server:
French
Italian
German
Spanish
Brazilian Portuguese
Japanese
Chinese
Blueprint Enterprise installs on non-English operating systems as normal; however, certain consideration apply when running Blueprint on a non-English OS.
The following considerations apply when using one or more non-English operating systems:
If Tracker install packages are created on a non-English server, the language pack for the server's language must be installed on all client workstations that the packages are run on. If the language pack is not present, the packages will not run.
If data from Trackers on multiple languages is being sent to a single server, the characters will display correctly as long as those languages are installed on the server. Extra languages are installed at Start Menu > Control Panel > Regional and Language Options.
In a mixed language environment, the display of numeric, currency and date values in Blueprint Administrator and on reports will follow the regional settings of the local PC. In particular, this means that users viewing Administrator screens and reports in such an environment will need to be mindful of where the Analyst is located and the currency in use on the Analyst. For example, if an Analyst resides in Germany and model costs are in euros, then a person in the UK running reports on that Analyst will need to change their currency symbol to euro while viewing reports, otherwise they will see the pound symbol in front of amounts which are actually in euros.
Alphabetical sorting in Blueprint Administrator is not supported for any lists containing Chinese characters.
Reports do not export correctly to PDF and RTF on Chinese operating systems. The workaround to obtain a PDF is to export to Word format and print to PDF using Acrobat. All reports print correctly.
When importing a file in Blueprint Administrator, ensure that the filename appears correctly. If the filename contains foreign characters that the OS does not support, the file will not import.
Trackers may be unable to communicate with Blueprint servers whose server names include foreign characters. To work around this problem, use the Blueprint Server Configuration tool on the server to change the Server Host Name/Address property to the server’s IP address instead of its host name.
