Whats New In this Release
Bug fixes
This release provides fixes for a number of issues.
Fixed in 1.2.18:
- Resolved issues where a user was sometimes not able to log in after changes were made at the engine.
- Introduced new speed increases and added improvements to the logout process.
- Added changes to make the bootup phase more reliable.
- Resolved an issue where a user was sometimes returned to the login screen after attempting to view available balance.
- Changed a timeout limit to resolve issues seen when an engine takes longer than 60 seconds to completely load software libraries and applications.
- Resolved an issue related to multiple card swipes causing paper to be pushed to the output tray.
- Resolved issues related to pressing the Print button rapidly and repeatedly.
Fixed in 1.2.13:
- Under a certain combination of settings, when the user logged off, any print job that was currently in progress would be cancelled. (This problem occurred when users had passwords, and the Use Card Swipe and Try Blank Password properties were set to "Yes".) This no longer occurs; print jobs are always allowed to complete after the user logs off, and the user is charged as normal.
Fixed in 1.2.11:
- Version 09.062.0 iMFP firmware caused refresh problems with the user interface (widgets were not shown/hidden correctly).
- Logging in with a card swipe caused PJL output when copying.
- When the user logged out, any print job that was currently in progress would be cancelled.
- If the user logged out in the middle of a long copy job, they would not be charged for the job.
Install Notes
Apply appropriate ini_schemas.sql script
Run the appropriate ini_schemas.sql script supplied in the Database directory of this firmware release against the Pharos Database before upgrading firmware. Scripts are named for the model they apply to, e.g. ini_schemas_hp4345is.sql - make sure to run the right script for your model. Running this script ensures that all new properties featured in this firmware release will be available in Pharos Administrator. If you are using SQL Server, run this script against the 'pharos' database using SQL Query Analyzer. If your site uses MSDE, run the script by entering the following from a command prompt, where [password] is your SQL administrator password:
osql -U sa -P [password] -d pharos -i ini_schemas.sql
It is always a good idea to back up the Pharos Database before applying changes.
Insert a Printer and a Network Terminal
Pharos contains records for the printers and copiers that it manages, and for the terminals that control them. Since the HP MFP is both an output device and a terminal, records for it must be created at two places in Pharos Administrator:
A Network Terminal record must be created for the MFP at Pharos Stations > Network Terminals.
An MFD record must be created at Printing > Print Services > [selected Print Service] > Printers or Output Devices > Pharos Managed Copiers.
Ensure that the MFD is listed under the Related Printers property for the Network Terminal - if this association is not made, users will receive an error when attempting to release print jobs.
