HP LaserJet M9040 series

HP LaserJet M9050 series

HP LaserJet CM6030 series

HP LaserJet CM6040 series

Note: Older device models are supported by the 1.2 release of the Pharos HP Integrated MFP solution.

Demo Mode

A new Demo Mode has been added. The configuration setting to enable and disable demo mode is found on the settings page.

Support for the RF Ideas reader product number 15610 is introduced in this release.

A new entry has been added to the Logon tab in the terminal settings found in Uniprint Administrator. This new entry allows the administrator to deny an advance user to be denied logon to the device when the account has insufficient funds to make a copy.

Transaction Reaper support

Improved support for resolving offline transactions has been introduced with this release.

Install Notes

  1. Required HP firmware version

The Pharos HP iMFP Application requires HP iMFPs to be running the latest firmware found at the HP website.

  2. Apply ini_schemashpIMFP.sql script

Run the ini_schemashpIMFP.sql script supplied in the Database directory of this firmware release against the Pharos Database before upgrading firmware. Running this script ensures that all new properties featured in this firmware release will be available in Pharos Administrator. If you are using SQL Server, run this script against the 'pharos' database using SQL Query Analyzer. If your site uses MSDE, run the script by entering the following from a command prompt, where [password] is your SQL administrator password:

    osql -U sa -P [password] -d pharos -i ini_schemashpIMFP.sql

It is always a good idea to back up the Pharos Database before applying changes.

  3. Insert a Printer and a Network Terminal

Pharos contains records for the printers and copiers that it manages, and for the terminals that control them. Since the HP MFP is both an output device and a terminal, records for it must be created at two places in Pharos Administrator:

A Network Terminal record must be created for the MFP at Pharos Stations > Network Terminals.
An MFD record must be created at Printing > Print Services > [selected Print Service] > Printers or Output Devices > Pharos Managed Copiers.
Ensure that the MFD is listed under the Related Printers property for the Network Terminal - if this association is not made, users will receive an error when attempting to release print jobs.

Known Issues

Cost Centers not supported

This release does not support charging costs to a Cost Center; costs can only be charged to users' internal accounts. This functionality will be added in a later release.

Print All button with Blueprint

An ongoing issue has been discovered with the Print All button when connected to a Blueprint server. There are intermittent issues with the Print All button not releasing all jobs in a print list.

Copy App sometimes does not display

An intermittent issue with the Copy application not always displaying has been seen. When this happens, the user is recommended to wait a couple of minutes and try again.

Error message not descriptive

An issue has been seen in situations when an administrator is connecting the iMFP to a server using SSL. If the administrator does not select to use SSL, the error message returned says only "null" on the configuration page. A more descriptive message saying the use of SSL is required to connect is missing.
