Problem:
While attempting to install the latest Ricoh Pharos BPE iMFP software “iMFP for Ricoh v1.5.4 Golden Master” which was received lately by Pharos, the iMFP software is installed successfully however there’s an error message appearing regarding the certificate saying “sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: No trusted certificate found” and it’s not able to connect to the EDI server.
Information:
The Ricoh MP C2503Z is one of Ricoh's new Smart Operation Panel devices. Please refer to item 7 on page 2 of the readme file included with the Ricoh 1.5.4 iMPF package, which states, "MFP with a Smart Operation Panel installed can’t communicate with Pharos over HTTPS." This is a known limitation of Ricoh's Smart Operation Panel devices. Because of this limitation, it is not possible to enable an SSL connection to EDI using these new Ricoh MFPs.
As you know, Blueprint's default configuration requires an SSL connection to EDI. If the client wants to connect the Ricoh Smart Operation Panel MFPs to Blueprint, it will be necessary to reconfigure Blueprint so that the SSL connection is not required. Follow the procedure below on each Blueprint server to allow non-SSL connections to EDI:
Make a backup copy of the "web.config" file located within the "C:\Program Files (x86)\PharosSystems\Blueprint\Services\BediService" folder.
Open the "web.config" in Notepad.
Locate the section below:
<setting name="EnforceSSLConnection" serializeAs="String"> <value>True</value> </setting>
Change the value from True to False.
Save the file.
Restart the Pharos Systems TaskMaster Service.
At the Ricoh Smart Operation Panel MFPs:
Deselect the option to use an SSL connection for EDI.
Apply the settings and test connection.
