The Pharos SIPs Gateway does not authenticate passwords.
SIRSI 2003 version of Unicorn and SIPS2 Pharos Gateway
SIRSI had us modify a file called SIP2.cfg so that the SIP2 socket used by Signup requires a PIN. Here is how the SIP2.cfg should look on a SIRSI Unicorn system running the 2003 version of Unicorn:
