Uniprint 9.0R2 and 9.1 PageCounter Updates

This update addresses known problems with Uniprint 9.0R2 and 9.1.

Before you Start

• This hot-fix should be applied to installations using Uniprint Suite 9.0 R2 and 9.1.

Installation

The update affects the PageCounter and should be applied to all Pharos Print Server machines.

The PageCounter is offered as an update via the Updater Service. For servers with access to the Internet, the update is automatically available via the Updater Service context in Pharos Administrator

To apply the update on servers which do not have access to the Internet:

1. Download the latest PageCounter update zip file, available here

2. Check the file has not been 'blocked' during the download, and then unzip the file.

3. Copy the PharosSystems.PageCounter.xxx.nupkg file (included in the zip file) and paste into the following location on the Principal Server (the server hosting the Pharos Database Service):

   \ProgramData\PharosSystems\UpdaterService\cache

4. Note: Copying the package file onto the Principal Server will make the package available to all Print Servers on the site. If you are unable to copy the package to the Principal Server, then it will need to be copied to the same ..\cache\ location on each Print Server machine.

5. Open the Pharos Administrator application and access the Updater Service context under System.

6. The PageCounter package should now be listed as an update for all Print Server machines.

7. Click to Download, and then Install the package on all Print Servers.

The file version of the new PageCounter will match the version number of the package. The new PageCounter version will be installed in the <install directory>\SecureRelease folder (usually c:\Program Files (x86)\Pharos\SecureRelease).

The application of this update constitutes acceptance of the conditions specified in your license agreement. To view the license agreement, please refer to the license.rtf file on your Pharos CD.

Installation Impact

The Page Counter update has no impact on printing or on user’s activities. However, when the Page Counter is in use and the update is taking place, Page Counter installation may fail. Installation failure has a very insignificant impact because it only takes less than a minute to update the Page Counter. No Pharos Services are restarted during the update.
