Product:
Uniprint 8.3 and greater.
Problem:
When trying to add a queue in Uniprint using the Pharos Administrator I get the error below.
Answer:
The error is a result of trying to add a Queue to Uniprint when the Print Driver you are using is a Type-4 (Class) version of a printer driver, you will need to download from the manufacturer a "Type-3" print driver to be used for the print queue. Due to a change in the Microsoft Windows Print architecture, "Type-4" (Class) print drivers cannot be used with any 3rd party solution. Microsoft has removed the ability to use a 3rd party Port Monitor with the new Type-4 print drivers. The Windows Server 2012 R2 Operating System and above is shipped with only Type-4 "Class" Print Drivers only so you need to download and install a Type-3 driver from the printer manufacturer.
