Before You Start

This hot-fix should be applied to installations using Uniprint Suite 9.2.

Installation

The update affects Print Servers and should be applied to all machines running the Pharos Print Services.

The Sentry Print Service is offered as an update via the Updater Service in Pharos Administrator

For Servers with Internet access:

  1. Open the Pharos Administrator application and access the Updater Service context under System.

  2. The Sentry Print Service update should be listed as an available update in the Updater Service context in Administrator.

  3. Click to Download, and then Install the Sentry Print Service package on all Pharos Print Servers.

    Note: if the Sentry Print update is not listed in the Updater Service context, ensure that Print Center version 5.0.30 or later is installed.

For Servers without access to the Internet, the update can be applied as follows:

  1. Download the following file from the Uniprint Service Packs and Hot Fixes page:

    Uniprint.SentryPrint.Service.2504.2210.4259.nupkg

  2. Copy the file and paste into the following location on the Principal Server (the server hosting the Pharos Database Service):

    \ProgramDataPharosSystems\UpdaterService\cache-v2.0\
  3. Note: Copying the package file onto the Principal Server will make the update available to all Pharos Servers on the site. If you are unable to copy the package to the Principal Server, then it will need to be copied to the same ..\cache-v2.0\ location on each Print Server machine.

  4. Open the Pharos Administrator application and access the Updater Service context under System.

  5. The Sentry Print Service update should now be listed as an update for all Print Server machines.

  6. Click to Download, and then Install the package on all Pharos Print Servers.

Note: if the Sentry Print update is not listed in the Updater Service context, ensure that Print Center version 5.0.30 or later is installed.

The application of this update constitutes acceptance of the conditions specified in your license agreement. To view the license agreement, please refer to the license.rtf file on your Pharos CD.

Details

This update addresses the following issues:

  • Ricoh IM C3010 Firmware Compatibility. Addresses a critical issue where the Sentry Print application would stop functioning on certain Ricoh models running the latest 2.x firmware version. Note: Ricoh devices will need to be re-secured once this update is applied.

  • Xerox VersaLink C505S Security. Fixes a security related issue specific to the Xerox VersaLink C505S model.

  • Improvements and support for new models. Improvements to Sentry Print support, including support for new models. Please see the Pharos website for all supported manufacturers and models: Sentry Print Supported Manufacturers and Models

  • WARNING: SNMPv1 and v2 support removed for Xerox devices. Support for SNMPv1/v2 with Xerox devices has been removed. This version supports Xerox devices exclusively using SNMPv3. Update the following file on each Print Server to include SNMPv3 details to match your printers' SNMP settings: C:\ProgramData\PharosSystems\SiteService\Xerox\XeroxSettings.xml. Restart the Sentry Print Service to encrypt the details in the file. see: Configuring SNMPv3 for Xerox for further setup details.

  • Note: Support for this Sentry Print update requires:

    • Pharos Print Center version 5.0.30 or later

    • DotNet Core 6 hosting bundle

    • If Pharos Print Center version 5.0.35 or later is used, then DotNet Core 8 hosting bundle must be applied

  • Once this update is applied, the Sentry Print msi version displayed in Control Panel > Programs will be: 25.4.32322.0
