About
This document describes the changes in Pharos Sentry Print Service version 4.110.1 and implementation directions for Blueprint Enterprise 5.4 Update 3 or Update 3.1 servers.
Pre-Requisites
Blueprint Enterprise 5.4 Update 3 or Update 3.1 must be applied to all servers before updating to this version of Pharos Sentry Print Service.
The update should be applied only to servers that already have an installed version of Pharos Sentry Print Service.
What’s new in Pharos Sentry Print Service version 4.110.1
Includes support for new printer models.
Please refer to the Pharos Help Center for all supported manufacturers and models: https://www.pharos.com/products/supported-printers-mfds/
The latest Sentry Print supported models list may be downloaded from Pharos Help Center and imported into Blueprint 5.4 U1 and greater
Best Practice: Update Blueprint’s supported model list after applying the Pharos Sentry Print Service update.
An issue in which the Pharos Systems Sentry Print Service would fail to stop or restart properly has been fixed.
An issue in which an "unable to install Secure Release app" message would appear when attempting to secure HP printers with Sentry Print has been fixed.
The Secure Print app icon no longer appears blurry on HP devices with a high-resolution display panel.
Affected printers must be unsecured and resecured to receive the improved Secure Print app icon.
The logged in user’s username is now captured within the HP security event log on a Sentry Print enabled HP printer.
The logged in user’s username is now properly populated into the %username% context of HP printers secured with Sentry Print.
This allows for more consistent use of the logged in user’s username within native printer functions like scan-to-folder.
Improved the user experience for small screen printers.
For small screen printers with a width less than 500 pixels, users will now see only the "Welcome" message after authentication. This adjustment ensures a cleaner and more streamlined interface for smaller screens.
For printers with a width above 500 pixels, the full username will be displayed on the next line after the "Welcome" message.
Copy and scan job accounting is now reported immediately after a user logs out of a Sentry Print enabled Xerox printer.
Warning: Blocked Files
Depending on how this update or its files were copied to the target machine, some of the files may have been 'blocked' by Windows. Trying to update a Blueprint component with a blocked file will most likely prevent that component from working correctly. To check whether a file is blocked, and to unblock it, right-click the file in Windows Explorer and select 'Properties'.
