Article summary

:Technical Update:

A bug was discovered in the field related to the "default session privilege" setting in Pharos Admin. Specifically, even if the setting in PA is "administrator" the logged in user is not granted admin rights and they can't change the system settings from the front panel. See http://jira/browse/CANON-181 for details.

Until we can get the fix into a Canon release, a work around is update the terminal.config file on the BP server manually. Ideally this should be done prior to installing and configuring terminals. I don't think we can update the BP server CDs so the 2.3.10 and 2.4.0 GMs available on FilesAnywhere need to be updated to include the attached files.

Note the version number in the new schemas has not been changed. If we change the version number the MFP will overwrite the schema with the terminal.config it. The only way to determine if the terminal.config is patched is to search for "default session" and ensure that the enclosing <IniSection> tags define "mfd":

<IniSection>mfd</IniSection>

<IniLabel>default session privilege</IniLabel>

Dan: If this has to be done after terminals have already been added/configured, what is the procedure?
